Course Outline

Introduction

Data management encompasses the processes of storing and processing information. For enterprises, the scope of data management expands significantly. The volume of data, along with the speed at which it must be secured, shared, analyzed, and processed, is of critical importance.

This course is designed for engineers at the entry level. It explores the various technologies, tools, architectures, and design methodologies employed to manage large volumes of data. We examine traditional data storage methods, such as relational databases, alongside newer, less structured approaches.

The curriculum compares traditional file systems and server architectures with their distributed and clustered counterparts, all within the context of managing and processing big data across distributed environments.

Attendees will perform hands-on exercises and take tests, followed by instructor coaching and group discussions.
