The curriculum is modeled on a real-world workflow I previously executed manually for a former employer. Together, we will construct a Power App using Microsoft Power Apps to monitor construction tasks for new homes (with data stored in SharePoint for simplicity). Additionally, we will leverage Power Virtual Agents to demonstrate how to configure bots within Microsoft Teams, guiding users to locate documents scattered across various SharePoint sites, such as loan agreements, budgets, and sales contracts. I believe these bots hold significant value for HR and IT teams in addressing repetitive inquiries efficiently. Furthermore, I will guide you through setting up straightforward flows in Power Automate to save attachments from specific senders (in our example, bank inspection reports) and to process data from Microsoft Forms into SharePoint. We will also establish fully automated approval processes using the Approvals app within Microsoft Teams. Upon completing the app, bot, and flow, the final phase involves generating a simple Power BI report. We will use Power Automate to dispatch a snapshot of the latest completed tasks every two weeks to a designated recipient (the bank in our scenario). This report will include the task completion dates and associated budget figures, all data collected via the app. While this course maintains a high-level perspective, I recommend learners use ChatGPT for more complex technical aspects, such as coding or formulas in Power Apps. I will demonstrate in the course how to effectively utilize ChatGPT to assist with Power Apps formulas.
