NATO Architecture Framework (NAF) Training in Slovakia

This instructor-led live training session [in location] (available online or onsite) is designed for architects and enterprise architecture professionals at beginner to advanced levels. The goal is to provide a thorough understanding and practical skills for applying the NAF in enterprise architecture contexts. The course covers all aspects of the framework without focusing on specific views or functions, utilizing Sparx Enterprise Architect or other preferred tools.

Upon completion of this training, participants will be equipped to:

• Efficiently navigate NAF documentation.
• Apply Sparx Enterprise Architect for various architecture-related tasks.
• Describe and comprehend different types of NATO architectures.
• Generate and interpret NATO Architecture Views.
• Identify and analyze stakeholders and Communities of Interest (CoIs).
• Align stakeholder interests with the overall architecture.
• Analyze and document the architecture interests and impacts of a CoI.

This instructor-led live training in Slovakia (online or onsite) is aimed at intermediate-level professionals who wish to understand and apply NAF to support enterprise architecture design and decision-making across defense-related projects.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Understand the structure and purpose of the NATO Architecture Framework.
• Identify and describe various architecture views within NAF.
• Map stakeholder requirements to architectural components.
• Use tools like Sparx Enterprise Architect to create NAF-compliant models.

Objective : The primary goal of this course is to equip participants with the practical skills needed to implement the UAF and NAF enterprise architecture frameworks.

Gaining a solid understanding of the UAF 1.1 concepts within the NATO NAF v4 Architecture Framework is highly advantageous. The Domain Meta-model (DMM) of UAF captures diverse stakeholder concerns—such as security, information, and performance metrics—through a set of predefined viewpoints, which are then mapped to corresponding views in NAFv4.

Furthermore, the Architecture Stages defined in the NATO NAFv4 Methodology enable participants to efficiently utilize UAF views to ensure coherence and completeness. This approach facilitates traceability from high-level strategic goals down to the specific personal and physical resources required for their implementation.

Throughout the course, participants progressively apply the explained concepts and techniques by working through an end-to-end case study and various associated exercises.
