Design Thinking: Innovation & Creative Problem Solving
4 HoursOverview:
The Design Thinking (DT) process comprises five distinct stages: empathize, define the problem, ideate, prototype, and test.
In today's increasingly complex world, we frequently encounter issues that demand specialized approaches. Design Thinking serves as a vital framework for navigating these complexities. Mastering this methodology enables individuals to handle difficult problems effectively, communicate more clearly, persuade more efficiently, drive better business outcomes, and elevate both organizational and personal performance.
- Understanding how DT functions: learning from people and the problem at hand, identifying patterns, designing a model (including managing model drift), testing the model, evaluating it, and re-engineering as needed.
- The interplay between Design Thinking, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
- Key DT methods and tools: developing personas, creating stakeholder maps, mapping customer journeys, designing service blueprints, and innovating business models.
- Practical applications of DT: cultivating a design mindset, driving disruptive innovation, adopting an iterative approach, utilizing agile estimation techniques, enhancing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, fostering teamwork, building leadership readiness, improving communication, leveraging technology, promoting forward-thinking, developing intercultural and ethical competency, boosting emotional intelligence, self-awareness, negotiation skills, and conflict resolution capabilities.
Objectives:
- To grasp the fundamentals and nuances of Design Thinking.
- To explore key concepts, factors, theories, types, and models within DT.
- To experiment with, experience, and practice Design Thinking.
Delivery:
This training course spans one day (4 hours) and includes the following components:
- Lectures (40% - covering theories, concepts, models, and interactive sessions),
- Group exercises (30% - focusing on group dynamics, games, discussions, and mock conflict resolution),
- Individual activities (15% - involving writing, designing, and peer discussions)
- Other materials (15% - such as videos and reading assignments).
Note: Due to the interactive nature of this course, a minimum group size of 3 participants is required.
Design Thinking - Disrupt the Patterns
14 HoursDesign Thinking is a globally recognised method for creating innovative services, processes, and products.
At the core of Design Thinking is the human element. The essence of the method lies in clearly defining the problem and focusing on the real needs of the end user. Awareness of this crucial distinction helps to mitigate the risk of failure.
The main objective of the training is to explore the practical aspects of applying the method in everyday work.
