Learning objectives

Upon completion of this training course, participants will be able to:

  • Articulate the fundamental concepts and principles of an AI management system based on ISO/IEC 42001.
  • Interpret ISO/IEC 42001 requirements for an AI management system from an auditor’s perspective.
  • Evaluate the conformity of an AI management system to ISO/IEC 42001 requirements using fundamental audit concepts and principles.
  • Plan, execute, and close an ISO/IEC 42001 compliance audit in adherence to ISO/IEC 17021-1 requirements, ISO 19011 guidelines, and other auditing best practices.
  • Manage an ISO/IEC 42001 audit program.

Day 1: Introduction to the artificial intelligence management system and ISO/IEC 42001

Day 2: Audit principles and the preparation for and initiation of an audit

Day 3: On-site audit activities

Day 4: Closing of the audit

Examination

The “PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor” exam fulfills the requirements of the PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP). It assesses the following competency domains:

Domain 1: Fundamental principles and concepts of an AI management system

Domain 2: AI management system requirements

Domain 3: Fundamental audit concepts and principles

Domain 4: Preparing an ISO/IEC 42001 audit

Domain 5: Conducting an ISO/IEC 42001 audit

Domain 6: Closing an ISO/IEC 42001 audit

Domain 7: Managing an ISO/IEC 42001 audit program

Certification

After successfully passing the exam, you may apply for one of the credentials listed below. Certificates are issued once all requirements for the selected credential are met.

  • Certification and examination fees are included in the price of the training course.

  • An attestation of course completion worth 31 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits will be issued to participants who attend the training course.
  • In the event that candidates do not pass the exam, they are entitled to retake it within 12 months of the initial attempt at no additional cost.
