Day 1: Introduction to ISO/IEC 42001 and launching AIMS implementation

Day 2: Strategic planning for AIMS deployment

Upon completion, you will be able to:

  • Explain the fundamental concepts and principles of an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
  • Interpret the ISO/IEC 42001 requirements for an AIMS from the perspective of an implementer
  • Initiate and plan the implementation of an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001 by utilizing PECB’s IMS2 Methodology and other best practices
  • Support an organization in operating, maintaining, and continually improving an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
  • Prepare an organization to undergo a third party certification audit

Exam

The “PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer” examination satisfies all PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP) criteria. It assesses the following competency areas:

Domain 1: Core principles and concepts of an artificial intelligence management system (AIMS)

Domain 2: Requirements for the artificial intelligence management system

Domain 3: Planning AIMS implementation in accordance with ISO/IEC 42001

Domain 4: Implementing an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001

Domain 5: Monitoring and measuring AIMS performance per ISO/IEC 42001

Domain 6: Continual improvement and preparation for AIMS certification audits

Available Credentials and Requirements

Following the exam, you may apply for one of the following credentials based on your professional background and project experience. Certification is granted upon meeting all tier-specific requirements, including signing the PECB Code of Ethics.

1. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Provisional Implementer

  • Exam: PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer exam or equivalent

  • Professional Experience: Not required

  • AIMS Project Experience: Not required

  • Other: Sign the PECB Code of Ethics

2. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Implementer

  • Exam: PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer exam or equivalent

  • Professional Experience: Two years total, including at least one year in artificial intelligence

  • AIMS Project Experience: Minimum 200 hours of project work

  • Other: Sign the PECB Code of Ethics

3. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer

  • Exam: PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer exam or equivalent

  • Professional Experience: Five years total, including at least two years in artificial intelligence

  • AIMS Project Experience: Minimum 300 hours of project work

  • Other: Sign the PECB Code of Ethics

4. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Senior Lead Implementer

  • Exam: PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer exam or equivalent

  • Professional Experience: Ten years total, including at least seven years in artificial intelligence

  • AIMS Project Experience: Minimum 1,000 hours of project work

  • Other: Sign the PECB Code of Ethics

General

  • Certification and exam fees are included in the course fee.
  • Participants receive comprehensive course materials featuring over 400 pages of content, practical examples, exercises, and quizzes.
  • Attendees will receive a certificate of completion valued at 31 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits.
  • Candidates who complete the course but do not pass the exam may retake it once free of charge within 12 months of the initial attempt.

Requirements

A foundational understanding of AIMS and the ISO/IEC 42001 standard is the primary prerequisite for this course.
