Human Factors for Business Performance
14 HoursTarget Audience:
- Any individual holding a management, supervisory, or leadership position.
- Team members seeking to elevate their collaborative skills.
- Operational leaders aiming to strengthen their interpersonal capabilities.
Program Overview:
A common misconception is that Human Factors (HF) is a discipline exclusively relevant to safety-critical industries such as aviation, healthcare, and oil & gas. In reality, investing in Human Factors yields tangible benefits that extend far beyond mere safety improvements.
Improved Operational Efficiency: Providing teams with the tools to manage workload, solve problems, and make effective decisions empowers them to handle work-related challenges independently. This reduces the need for higher-level intervention. Regardless of the industry, frontline team members gain the capacity to navigate complex and dynamic situations with confidence.
Enhanced Employee Engagement and Brand Reputation: Empowering team members to take control of work situations boosts engagement and improves customer interactions. Organizations that demonstrate a genuine commitment to investing in their staff’s development foster higher job satisfaction, which in turn enhances their brand reputation.
Reduced Absenteeism and Increased Retention: Time lost to stress and fatigue can be partially mitigated through Human Factors training. However, workplace morale significantly influences individual stress levels. Investing in a blend of stress and fatigue management training, along with implementing peer support programs, signals a strong commitment to employee well-being. As suggested by Deloitte, such investments can lead to a 500% return through reduced absenteeism and improved staff retention.
In summary, the same skills that benefit pilots, surgeons, and oil rig drillers can be applied far more broadly to enhance organizational performance beyond safety objectives.
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Grasp the fundamental principles of human cognition.
- Apply this understanding to develop cognitive tools that enhance performance.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the key principles necessary to improve compliance, reliability, and overall performance.
Course Format:
- Instructor-led delivery.
- Scenario-based presentations, briefings, and accident analysis.
- Breakout scenario workshops and group presentations.
